ReadyCents legal
Privacy Policy
How ReadyCents collects, uses, protects, and shares personal and financial data.
ReadyCents Privacy Policy
Short version
ReadyCents is built around private financial records. We use personal and financial data to run the app, sync budgets, support imports and bank connections, secure accounts, answer support requests, and manage billing. We do not sell your budget, transaction, account, or bank-connection data.
Self-hosted ReadyCents runs on infrastructure you control. ReadyCents cannot access your self-hosted budget data unless you send it to us for support, connect to a ReadyCents-operated service, or use a third-party provider that has its own terms and privacy policy.
1. Information we collect
Account and profile information
Name, email address, login method, authentication identifiers, subscription status, household role, support history, and settings you save to personalize ReadyCents.
Budget and financial records
Accounts, balances, transactions, envelopes, assignments, goals, payees, notes, tax tags, reports, scheduled transactions, debt details, imports, and reconciliation history you create or import.
Bank connection data
For ReadyCents Cloud, bank-sync data may be provided through user-owned SimpleFIN or ReadyCents-managed Plaid after you authorize the connection. For self-hosted ReadyCents, linked-account sync is designed around bring-your-own SimpleFIN or manual/CSV import.
Device, usage, and security data
IP address, browser, device information, app events, logs, crash data, diagnostics, and approximate location derived from network data when needed to operate, secure, debug, or improve ReadyCents.
Support and communications
Messages, attachments, screenshots, transaction examples you choose to send, and metadata needed to resolve requests. Please remove unrelated financial or personal information before sharing screenshots.
Payment and billing data
Plan, invoices, subscription status, payment identifiers, and limited payment details from payment processors. ReadyCents does not need to store full card numbers.
2. How we use information
- To provide the budgeting, reporting, tax-tagging, import, household, bank-connection, and account-management features you request.
- To authenticate users, prevent fraud, secure sessions, enforce household permissions, and protect the service.
- To process subscriptions, invoices, license purchases, refunds, and self-hosted license status.
- To respond to support, privacy, security, billing, and account requests.
- To troubleshoot bugs, maintain service reliability, improve product quality, and understand aggregate product usage.
- To communicate service notices, legal updates, security alerts, account messages, and product updates where allowed.
- To comply with law, enforce agreements, defend legal claims, and complete business transactions such as a merger or acquisition.
3. Google Sign-In data
When you choose Sign in with Google, Google provides ReadyCents and its authentication provider with basic identity information associated with your Google account. This may include a Google account identifier, name, email address, and profile image. ReadyCents uses this information to create or link your ReadyCents account, authenticate you, display basic account information, protect the account, and respond to support requests.
The identity information is stored with your ReadyCents authentication and account records and handled under the retention practices in this policy. It may be shared in the circumstances described in Section 5, including with service providers that authenticate, host, secure, support, or operate ReadyCents, and when required for legal or security purposes. ReadyCents does not sell Google user data.
This Google Sign-In flow does not request access to Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Google Contacts, Google Calendar, or other Google product content.
4. Hosted and self-hosted deployments
ReadyCents Cloud is hosted for you. In that model, ReadyCents and its service providers may process account, budget, and transaction data so the hosted service can work.
Self-hosted ReadyCents is different. Your app instance, database, backups, logs, environment variables, and SimpleFIN or other bring-your-own connections are controlled by you. You are responsible for configuring, securing, backing up, updating, and limiting access to your self-hosted deployment.
If you send self-hosted logs, exports, screenshots, database records, or environment details to ReadyCents support, we will use that material only to help with the request, improve security, comply with law, and maintain our records.
5. When we share information
- With service providers that help us host, authenticate, secure, email, analyze, bill, support, and operate ReadyCents.
- With bank-data providers, such as Plaid for hosted bank connections or the provider you choose for a self-hosted connection, only when you authorize that connection.
- With people you invite into a ReadyCents household or workspace according to their role and the permissions you grant.
- With payment processors for billing, taxes, invoices, fraud prevention, and subscription management.
- With legal, security, accounting, or compliance advisors when needed to operate the business and protect users.
- With law enforcement, courts, regulators, or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect ReadyCents, users, or others.
- With a successor if ReadyCents is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.
ReadyCents does not sell your budget data, transaction data, financial account data, or bank credentials. If marketing cookies or targeted-advertising tools are used on public marketing pages, they must honor the choices described in User Privacy Choices.
6. Financial account connections
ReadyCents does not need permission to move money. Bank-sync features are read-only budgeting inputs. Third-party providers may receive credentials, tokens, account identifiers, transaction data, balances, or related information directly from you or your financial institution under their own terms and privacy policies.
Disconnecting a bank connection may stop future imports, but ReadyCents may retain previously imported transactions unless you delete them, delete the account, or request deletion where available.
7. Data retention
We keep information as long as needed to provide ReadyCents, maintain security, support your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and keep appropriate business records.
- Hosted budget and account data is generally retained while your account or workspace remains active.
- Deleted accounts, canceled subscriptions, and expired trials may be retained for a limited period in backups, logs, billing records, and fraud-prevention records.
- Support conversations may be retained so we can understand past issues and provide consistent help.
- Self-hosted data retention is controlled by your own hosting, backups, database, and logs unless you share data with ReadyCents.
8. Security
ReadyCents uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the type of information being processed. These may include access controls, authentication, encryption in transit, provider security controls, least-privilege service keys, logging, and security reviews.
No online service or self-hosted deployment can be guaranteed perfectly secure. You are responsible for protecting your password, devices, self-hosted server, database credentials, environment variables, backups, and third-party provider accounts.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to certain uses of your personal information. You may also have rights related to targeted advertising, sale or sharing of personal information, sensitive personal information, authorized agents, appeals, and non-discrimination.
Use the User Privacy Choices page or email support@readycents.com to make a privacy request. We may need to verify your identity before acting on the request.
10. Children, international use, and changes
ReadyCents is not directed to children under 13, and children under 18 should use ReadyCents only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal information to ReadyCents, contact us.
ReadyCents is operated from the United States. If you use ReadyCents from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.
We may update this policy as ReadyCents changes. The updated version applies when posted unless a separate notice says otherwise.
